Determining What Type of Sim you Have:
NetHASP SIM

NetHASPs can be either Parallel or USB style but will always be RED.

A NetHASP is for people who have 3 or more seats and are running all of their Mastercam X off of one network license.

USB HASP SIM

Uses the newest SIM technology HASP 4.

Parallel HASP SIM

Old style SIM that plugs into the printer port on your computer. This type of SIM may be either a HASP3 or HASP4.

HASP 3s are not compatible with Version X.

Because you have a parallel port SIM we need to first check what generation of SIM it is. HASP 3 and 4 look very similar. In order to determine what type of SIM you have please go to www.simswap.com to test and replace the SIM if needed.

When you run the program haspinfo.exe which is downloaded from www.simswap.com a box like this will open:

Click "Test" to get the SIM information that is shown here. As you can see this SIM is in proper working order (it is a HASP 4) so it passes the test.

If your SIM does NOT pass this test then you need to fill out the information on www.simswap.com and CNC Software will send you an updated USB SIM. Upon receipt of the USB SIM you MUST send back your old HASP 3. The address to return your old SIM is:

CNC Software
Attn: Sim Swap Dept.
671 Old Post Rd.
Tolland, CT 06084

If you need a USB SIM and have a HASP 4 SIM you can upgrade for $50. Call 765-778-2020

Other Questions:
Question 1: The new NetHasp drivers don’t work on NT.
Answer: Windows NT 4 is no longer supported as a NetHASP client or server.

Question 2: NetHasp not found (15).” or a “NetHasp3 not supported” error.
Answer: You are sure you have a Hasp4 and still get the error message. You need to be pointing to the correct server IP in the NH_SERVER_ADDR line in nethasp.ini as shown below. Remember that the semi colon (;) indicates a remark or comment so be sure to remove the leading semi colons.

Nethasp.ini
 ;;NH_SERVER_ADDR = <Addr1>, <Addr2> ; IP addresses of all the NetHASP

Example:
NH_SERVER_ADDR = 192.168.0.4 ; IP address of the NetHASP

Question 3: The default nhsrv.ini has some settings that are NOT commented out.
Answer: This will cause your NetHASP server to be assigned the example names. It should not affect the operation of the NetHASP server or Mastercam.

Question 4: White Parallel HASP becomes disconnected frequently during printing.
Answer: We are currenttly trouble shooting this in house and will provide more information when it is available. For now the only work around is to disconnect the printer.

Question 5: My hasp won’t update with haspx.exe, why?
Answer: In some situations depending on what Windows files are on your system you will not be able to enter a new update code into your hasp with haspx.exe. This usually happens when you are entering
a new VX maintenance code into a system that has only V9 installed. Start the HASP Setup program.
Click Start, All Programs, Mastercam X, Hasp Setup. Then use haspx.exe to update your hasp. Refer to VX downloads for more info on this procedure.

Question 6: My nethasp will not allow me to create a Zip2Go file. Why not?
Answer: This is a known issue in MR2. You need to download the file z2gdata.zip. Unzip the file and replace the files in the mcamx_MR2/chooks/zip2go folder with these new files.
